Welcome readers, friends on a journey. I hope you’re enjoying At the End of the Storm.

If you want to know a little about me—before or after reading Storm—here’s a good place to start.

A Day in the Life of a Stay-at-Home Writer

Five a.m. walk. (Yes, five!) Moonlit meditation. “Be still and know that I am God” one day, Thich Nhat Hanh’s blissful meditation the next. Email, of course. Then expectations management. (You loved my book?) Thank you. Can’t wait to get back to work. (You didn’t buy my book? You didn’t like my book?) Peanut butter. No, don’t stifle those emotions, put them to work. Write the next novel and get a thicker skin. Fingers stuck on the keyboard. Why won’t that character tell me what she wants? Almond butter. Afternoon walk. Sunlit meditation. Yes, it’s possible to soak up Vitamin D in April in Florida. That doesn’t stop me from thinking about the Connecticut coast and the view of Manhattan from Long Island Sound. Calls to friends. Yes, I tell them, I get scared, too. More email, less news. Out of the blue, Ahhhh, now I know what that character has to say. Fingers fly on the keyboard. Satisfaction with a day’s work. Dinner and a streaming binge. Of course, I know that’s bad for the brain. Night-night.
