On April 14, 2021, I’ll be taking part in a Women’s National Book Association panel to explore what goes on “Behind the Scenes of the Novel.” I’ll be appearing with three remarkable women: Carol White, playwright, photographer, workshop facilitator and author of five novels (a true Renaissance woman!); Penelope Love, publisher and author of the recently released Wake Up in Love; and Linda Rosen, whose newest novel is due for release any day now.

As accomplished as she is, Carol White never fails to extend her hand to emerging writers and to the South Florida writing community through her work as Letters Chair of the National League of American Pen Women’s Boca Raton Branch. New and established writers are invited to join on April 14, 2021 to hear Carol discuss her craft. In the meantime, check out one of my favorites of Carol’s novels–From One Place to Another.

Here is what I had to say about it in a recent review:

More Twists and Turns Than a Braided Babka!

From One Place to Another is a sexy, saucy delight, from its appetizing first chapter to its satisfying, but surprising, conclusion. In Dina, Carol captures a woman like many in swanky Boca Raton, Florida: beautiful, talented, yet abandoned by a husband who thinks life would feel a whole lot better in the arms and bed of a twenty-year-old blonde named Taffie. But Dina’s no quitter. She wants Mark back and decides the way to snag him is to start a catering business serving all the tantalizing dishes she served Mark’s wealthy clients over the years.

All goes well–thanks to her chronic list-making–until a fellow food lover named Dex walks into Dina’s life and her kitchen.

With wit as sharp as Dina’s carving knife, White captures her heroine’s predicament as well as Boca Raton’s slick, and sometimes sharp-elbowed culture. Her skills as a renowned novelist and award-winning playwright come to the fore to create scenes as memorable and surprising as they are funny and challenging.
